Four years ago months, after seeing a neurologist, who had an MRI of my cervical spine, which was read by a neurosurgeon. That problem, which was a herniated disk is resolved. For some time, I have been having worsening symptoms that friends have told me that really sound like hypothyroidism or Grave’s disease (we all do.) I’m waiting to see a new doctor in seven weeks. But I wonder about the MRI. If I have an abnormality in my thyroid, it would have been visible in this image?

No. You need blood tests to detect thyroid problems. The tests you need are free T3 and free T4. Ask for them by name, or all that will be a TSH test, which does not say much of anything. Not even a thyroid test. TSH is a pituitary hormone.
