Is back surgery in general Dachshunds success?
My miniature dachshund hernia and the bust of a spinal disc a few days ago. She now is on steroids and muscle relaxants and is obviously in a lot of pain. The vet said the two vertebrae in your spine are rubbed together and make her cry of pain she arches her back to put space between them. They said she might need a surgical procedure to help her. If the disk has broken what type of surgery can do and these surgeries are generally successful?
I had back surgery done in my Basset Hound, and was a success. On the basis of their condition, the vet gave us an estimate of 80% chance of success.

Although technically not sciatica because it’s not the sciatic nerve, the femoral nerve can give this presentation. It can occur in much the same manner as sciatica, but it’s just a different nerve.
