L4/L5 disk hernia after surgery?

Four days after surgery and most of my symptoms are still with me leg pain when standing, sitting, with a numb foot and calf.? nerve pain when sitting in the bathroom and cleaning of the teeth is a terrible. The only improvement is the absence of pain in inner thighs and groin. When part of the incision is made I have a small lump that is painful (like a point). The rest of the area where the incision was made about two inches is fine and healing well. I go to the doctors tomorrow just in case it is an infection. Am I expecting to much as soon around the nerve pain to disappear or will this time.? I went for a walk today, which was very difficult, painful and had a pain smarting from the ankle to the calf, no motor function to normal. Surgeon said he had to carry a large part of my record. The bladder, normal bowls and men function operational (thanks!)

I am sure that the surgeon told him this, but just in case he or she did not. The reaction at the disc by pressing the nerves swelling and scar tissue if there is enough time. There are two parts to a nerve. The top or the side that is closer to the back is feeling and the bottom half is for the engine. In your case, the pressure was on both indicative of a larger disk problem. If the problem was there for a long time, it is going to take time to repair, if the nerve may recover. The general rule is that you need about an inch per month for recovery. That means it is one inch from the site of the operation until the tip of your toe. But not really have that time for the whole show to return, but it will be a good time. As soon as what is happening now you have the swelling before the procedure, most every flash of the procedure. Give it time but within a few days should be a reduction in complaints. That does not mean that recovery only the beginning of a decrease in symptoms. You did not specify what type of procedure was made and if there was implanted fixation devices. different procedures make a difference in how the body reacts and if the fixation devices were used then it will take longer. So the important thing is that you have control over the bowels and bladder, and the functions of their male. The functions of the engine is going to have time return. The feeling is going to be interesting for you. The body has overlapping sensory inputs so you should be able to feel things rather than motor responses. Follow the instructions of the surgeons and keep moving.
