Exemption from back surgery?
Has anyone found a great relief to have a low lumbar back surgery? Im having a hernia fact disk, but I have heard many stories of people not getting a fair amount of pain relief or time to return. My neurosurgeon said hes making a minimally invasive, but I have to stay out of work and other activities for 3-4 weeks. I'm just nervous to go through all this but do not improve much Im. I know I have to b / c I've done everything else to get rid of pain (chiropractors, physical therapists, accupuncturists, new steroid injections / epidural anesthesia, and pills) and I can not live with the pain any more. I just want to know … This surgery is a good or a waste of time?
I had surgery 12 years ago from L3 to S1 and I am very happy that I had done. You will be off work for a while and not to any earlier than recommended because they do not want to undo all the good going to do surgery for you. It's a slow recovery process, but well worth it.
